Reading

Our kids are completely wearing themselves out trying to get their minutes for the summer reading program at the library. If Anna reads more minutes than Joey he scrambles around gathering a stack of books and then hunts until he finds someone to read them to him. They both take turns reading to Cassie as well so that she can get her minutes too. The city library has an awesome program that not only gives prizes for minutes read but does ongoing fun activities that the kids can participate in. A couple of weeks ago they learned how to hula dance and sing a song in Hawaiian. We love that our kids love to read so much and we love it even more when the library creates a program that gets them that excited about reading.

Pooooools!

Is there anything better on a hot summer day than a nice, cool swimming pool? We don't think so. We spent everyday this last week in the swimming pool at our hotel. We even got the nice people in Logan to give us a late check out so that we could swim before we left town. We enjoyed it so much that now we think we need a nice big pool for our yard. We are going out this afternoon to buy one...can't wait!

Zoo

For some odd reason our family loves to to visit every dinky zoo that we come upon while traveling. This time it was the Willow Park Zoo in Logan. We had a pretty good laugh at the "on your honor" pay system that only cost our whole family $3.00, and no we did not cheat the zoo. It was tiny and they had more turtles and birds than anything but we had a lot of fun and would recommend it to anybody.

Father and Son campout

Friday Joey and Dad went on their first father and son campout. They had a blast cooking Smores, climbing the hill and watching a movie in their tent after every one else had gone to sleep. Joey is such a lover, before the movie he leaned over to dad and said "I love you fifty hundred one".

Troublemaker

One minute, I swear it was only one minute that we took our eyes off her. Apparently for a master troublemaker that's all it takes. You would be surprised at how quickly red and blue stamp pads can turn into a black covered baby, chair, computer desk, carpet..... I think you get the picture.

Summer Storm

When our kids first heard the storm warning on the t.v. they were scared to death. Especially when they kept repeating, "Stay away from all windows." But as soon as it got dark and started thundering they were the first ones out of the house. They even kept focused on the sky to see the lightning which is a pretty big accomplishment in an of itself. They only wanted to go in when the rain really started coming down. And, as a bonus they got to see the adults at the party across the street run for cover.

Baptism

Saturday was the perfect day! Anna looked absolutely smashing in her jumpsuit, Bryce wasn't too bad either. Everything went really well even though Anna was so nervous that her teeth were chattering. When it was all over all she could say (through her nonstop grin) was, "That felt soooo good!" We went to IHOP for lunch and had a nice stroll through the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. We had family with us the whole time and just couldn't have asked for a better day.
