Anna has been tirelessly searching for the pefect baptism dress (we're looking early due to all the available dresses this time of year). After trying on thirteen different dresses from five different stores she has narrowed it down to her favorite four. She is now asking for your help. Anna came up with the idea to let all you faithful followers of our blog vote on which dress she should get for her special day. You have five days to let your voice be heard. To the right is our weekly poll. Click on the number that corresponds to your favorite dress. Happy voting!

Twenty Something

As he was getting ready for bed last night Joey said, "this was the best birthday ever!" What a short memory our little guy has, his birthday was only two weeks ago. He was right though, it was a great birthday. We went to see Seussical the Musical Jr. What a fun play! They combine several classical Dr. Seuss stories into one crazy show. Add lots of dancing and singing and you have one entertaining night. After the play we came home for cake and presents with grandma. Every one was super sweet and got me exactly what I wanted - Thanks! There was even chocolate "confetti" all over. Who could ask for more?

Book Fair

Our family has found a sure fire way to save money:
1) Run a Book Fair for your local elementary school.
2) Make your children help for 2 hours a day (4 hours on SEP nights).
3) Keep them busy by letting them read the books.
Voila! You don't have to buy any books, money saved!

Welcome Spring

Yeah Spring! Oh, how we have missed thee! At last we can open the windows and let in the fresh breeze without freezing. The kids can play outside with only jackets and spend more than 10 min. at a time. We decided that we were ready for the birds to be back and have dually prepared with homemade bird feeders. Come and get it!

Staycation

How sad were we when Cassie started throwing up this morning a mere two hours before we were scheduled to leave on a much anticipated vacation to Nephi, Utah. The kids were super excited for the heated indoor pool, cable TV, and a trip to the Little Sahara Sand Dunes. Being the troopers they are, they quickly set up a staycation instead. They are enjoying swimming in the "ocean", laying on the "beach" and various other activities that we are not yet privy to. Anna the staycation advisor has not yet divulged the rest of the itinerary with us. With an imagination like hers it would be impossible not to have fun. We can't wait!

Happy St. Patty's Day

We love our holidays! I started off the morning making green eggs for the kids, which thankfully they ate. We definitely made sure that no one in our family got pinched today (others at school were not so lucky). And, we have a full green menu planned for dinner - can't wait! If you'll excuse me, I have to plan some April Fools pranks for my children.

Museum of Ancient Life

Thanksgiving Point is one of our families favorite places to go. They have a farm with animals and horse rides and a garden with tons of beautiful flowers, a hedge maze and a splash pool. But our favorite spot is the dinosaur museum.

One of the reasons that we love going to the museum is because there is tons of hands on fun for the kids.

Look out! A dinosaur! Wait, they're not alive. Get up Joey.

Our Paleontologist in training has suddenly decided, after 45 min. of digging in the quarry, that "If I have to dig all day and all night I don't want to do it anymore!" He is now looking for a new profession, if you have any ideas for him please let us know.

Yeah! It's over!!! I have spent the last month preparing for this night, West Kearns Family Safety Fair is over baby! And, it was a huge success! We had approximately 300 people show up, which is gigantic for a PTA function. We had the fire department, police department and poison control come with tons of freebies and info. We also got Primary Children's Hospital, Robert J. Debry and the Salt Lake County Health Dept. to send us lots of pamphlets and give aways. Sharon, the super clown, came and tied balloons for all the kids and she did it for FREE! To top off the night Ronald McDonald did an awesome magic show. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great night.

"You say it's your birthday, it's my birthday too--yeah. They say it's your birthday, we're gonna have a good time. I'm glad it's your birthday, happy birthday to you. Yes, we're going to a party party." Joey is the big 05 today! He has has been having tons of fun being the man of the day. "I like it. I like my presents and I love when it's my birthday. Can we do this again tomorrow?"

Grrrrrrrrrr! I had lots of fun being a Royal Lion today at school. Walking down the hall throughout the day I got screams, oohs, aahs and Coooooools! The kids at school brought in a ton (1,290 pounds to be exact) of food for the food bank and as a reward the principal and myself got our faces painted for the day. Okay I realize that 1,290 pounds isn't really a ton but it was pretty good for a bunch of kids!

Stacks of cookie goodness

Girls Scout cookies are back with a vengeance in Kearns. We are stacked to the rafters. The kids love having the temptation of Samoas and Tagalongs in such close proximity. Now if we could just get them to stop playing cookie booth with every one's cookies we'd be in business!
